Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
A little late but there’s a reason for that. My PC decided to die on me so I’ve been without a computer for a few weeks. But on new years eve my new pc arrived so I’m back in business!
As you can see in the collage, the Bokhara bracelet I made for my sister started to fall apart. For a while there I thought she might have been wearing it while shoveling snow but it turns out it is just a little bit too tight which is putting too much strain on the thread holding it all together. The cube beads have pretty sharp edges so they have cut the Fireline in a few places.
I decided to add 3 rows of cubes on each side to make it a little bigger. But oh how I am starting to dislike the Bokhara. I keep breaking the beads as I add in new ones. It is so frustrating! At this point I think I’m probably better off deconstructing a portion of the bracelet and start over at a point where the old work is still intact. Curse those matte beads!
It would probably be best to replace the clasp with a wider box clasp but I just can’t afford it right now.
Gwen Fisher handed out a free tutorial for a pair of holly leaf and berry earrings as a holiday gift to us all. I made a pair and I really like them. Very cute.
Another pair of earrings from Sabine Lippert’s Beaded Fantasies, Double Star Earrings. I had very few colors of 3mm bugle beads to choose from so I put together 1 purple and 1 black double star and posted a picture to Facebook to get some opinions. Since my sister Cecilia was the only one weighing in she’ll be receiving a pair of black Double Star Earrings in the mail.
Box #7 was finished a long time ago and should have been posted in december but without a computer I couldn’t upload any pictures. Look for a post next week.
I have to apologize for the quality of the pictures lately. It is very hard to take a good picture with this gloomy weather we’re having over here.
New years resolution, get my ears pierced already!
Happy New Year! Gott Nytt År! Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!
